Yup, it's time to change. Having watched a lot of your vids. Possibly the mistake is to expect sotf to be pretty much like the Forest but with better graphics. It's not, it's an entirely different game. And a completely different building system. Like all builder games it has its annoying quirks, especially in the trial version. I was in it from the early days and I think playing a very incomplete trial game robbed sotf of some of the joy of exploring a new game. I'm glad I played sotf before I played Forest.

7D2D is such a fun game. I love games where you can craft, build, defend, explore, and gather.

SOTF is so fun when you don't have adults that have burnout from playing video games for a literal full time job telling you its not.

in the area with timmy's drawing after you climb the rope there is a part of the map marked as "exit" and you can place dynamite/explosives there using the "C" icon, but when it explodes nothing happens. is this just a red herring from the devs or is it a bug?

I’m not gonna lie, I feel like I caught this relativity early on. The forest console I got close to 200 hours, multiple playthroughs etc. But then me and my friends all bought this game at launch (early testing, not full release) and idk after like 3-4 weeks we have up. I can’t put my finger on it, but I 100% agree when you say, it just doesn’t feel like the forest

I apologize these type of games i get lost in like No man's sky i just explore I feel no need to finish.

8:30 Conan Exiles has equilateral triangles for building and it's amazing. Game itself has issues but the building is great.

ooooh. Really enjoy Green Hell, its not prefect but it gets soooo much right for me. Happy you re-visiting it :D I liked using the tree frames as navigation waypoints & micro bases. i was gonna try to see how many you could connect together so you don't have to walk on the floor when going from a to b but i got lazy & didnt try in the end.

The game was ass from release. They false advertised in the trailers and refuse to give the fans any service. Endnight robbed us all of a solid sequel, cash, and time.

Not gonna lie I’d love a big succinct review of Sons of the Forest to put all the gripes into one place. I think it’d both be very entertaining, and rather cathartic for you, and maybe help you move on and not have to think about the game anymore

Although, I would say that you indeed can have some kind of an impact on a games developers I need to disappoint you on this one as all the improvements you mention have been added LONG after you posted your playthroughs. The reason those have been aded is that Creep Jar games is one of these studios that continue to post free content updates over and over again. Unlike the forest devs who pretty much abandoned the game after release and the only content updates they made was some pointless structures, which prolly were not ready on release. In fact, independent from changes and who caused them, I'd say you abandoned this game way to early as it is essential like The Forest but good in terms of survival. I see how the enemies are too dumb to make up a challenge and how that could ruin the game for you but imo the way these games implement fighting enemies has little to do with surviva anyways, so I dont care for these mechanics in either of the games. With the enemy dumbness put aside, this game plays in a whole other league than The Forest does.
